What is a store helper?

Store helpers are employees who assist in the daily operations of a retail store, warehouse, or stockroom. Their responsibilities typically include unloading deliveries, stocking shelves, organizing inventory, assisting customers, and keeping the store area clean and organized. Store helpers play a crucial role in ensuring that products are easily accessible and that the store runs smoothly. They may also help with basic administrative tasks and support other staff members as needed.

Job description

Driver's Helper

Hagersville, ON

⏰ Start times staggered between 3:00 AM – 7:00 AM | Shifts up to 10 hours

Weekend availability required – schedule subject to route demands

We're currently hiring Driver's Helpers to support a well-established dairy distribution operation based in Hagersville. This is more than just a job — it's a foot in the door with a reputable local employer that values reliable, hardworking employees.

This role is ideal for dependable individuals who enjoy being on the move, working as part of a close-knit team.

Reliable candidates can start immediately. ✅

⚠️ Own transportation required – early morning start times make this essential

️ What You'll Be Doing

  • Assist the route driver with loading, transporting, and unloading dairy products at each stop
  • Carry and stock product at customer locations including coolers, shelving, and back-stock areas
  • ✔️ Verify delivery accuracy by checking orders against invoices and delivery manifests
  • ️ Obtain customer signatures and maintain proper delivery documentation
  • Handle all product with care to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle throughout the shift
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and store personnel
  • Follow all food safety and company safety guidelines at all times

Every route matters. Delivery team members are the face of the operation — ensuring dairy products reach customers safely, on time, and in full, every single day.

✅ What We're Looking For

  • Previous delivery helper, warehouse, or physical labour experience is an asset — entry-level candidates are welcome and will be considered
  • Experience in food or beverage distribution considered an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working in cold and refrigerated environments
  • Reliable transportation to report on time for early morning start times
  • Flexible availability including weekends and varying shift start times
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • ✅ Immediate start — don't wait weeks to get working
  • Contract-to-permanent potential for candidates who perform
  • Consistent hours with a stable, established client
  • Gain hands-on experience in food and beverage distribution
  • Work with a supportive team that values reliability and effort
  • Build a long-term career in distribution

Working Environment

This is an active distribution role where employees may be exposed to:

  • Cold and refrigerated product and storage environments
  • ️ Loading dock and warehouse activity
  • ️ Varying outdoor weather conditions throughout the delivery route
  • ⚡ A physically demanding, fast-paced work environment

Safety Requirements

  • CSA-approved green patch steel-toe safety footwear required
  • Additional PPE provided as required
  • ✔️ Compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and company safety procedures
