Location: Metro Atlanta, GA

Job Type: Direct Hire

Job Summary

We are hiring a Store Director for a grocery client in the Metro Atlanta area. This leadership role directs day-to day market operations, drives sales and profitability, and manages staff across all departments. 

The ideal candidate has strong retail or grocery leadership experience and is comfortable owning both the operational and people side of running a store.

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day store operations and develop strategies to improve customer service, sales, and profitability

  • Schedule and assign duties to staff and follow up on work results

  • Recruit, select, orient, and train store staff

  • Coach, counsel, and discipline employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job performance

  • Prepare and manage the annual budget; analyze variances and initiate corrective actions

  • Approve contracts and maintain inventory to ensure merchandise availability

  • Analyze operating and financial statements to guide merchandising and marketing strategy

  • Oversee scheduling and operations across all departments, including front-end (Scan Coordinators, Bookkeepers, Head Cashiers)

  • Identify service gaps and implement procedures to address them

  • Support health, safety, and sanitation standards to maintain a safe store environment

  • Maintain accurate department records (employee performance, disciplinary actions, cash handling, etc.)

  • Communicate sales goals and department performance to staff

  • Forecast staffing needs and build recruiting strategy to keep the store optimally staffed

  • Uphold and represent the store's culture among staff

Must Haves

  • 3 years of grocery leadership experience

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

  • Proven leadership ability to influence, motivate, and retain staff

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to delegate effectively

  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including willingness to travel to other store locations for mandatory rotational training

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, kneel, and squat; lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field

  • Forklift, power jack, or manual pallet jack experience
