Job description

Aquent is partnering with a leading global retailer dedicated to crafting inspiring spaces for customers worldwide. Our client is at the forefront of designing and constructing high-quality retail environments for a diverse portfolio of beloved brands, ensuring every store delivers an exceptional and engaging experience.

ย Retail Store Development Opportunity

Do you love great retail experiences and ever wonder what goes into bringing a store concept to life?

Weโ€™re looking for an organized and proactive coordinator who is excited about retail brands, customer experience, and helping turn store concepts into reality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing details, collaborating with teams, and taking ownership of projects from planning through execution.

Weโ€™re looking for a highly organized and motivated early-career professional to support the planning and execution of retail store projects across multiple brands.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 1โ€“3 years of experience who has had exposure to project planning, design documentation, or construction processes, and is looking to grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

Youโ€™ll play a key role in supporting store projects across the full lifecycleโ€”from early design phases through construction:

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Support project planning from Design Development through Construction Drawings and Permit submission
  • Track key milestones and timelines across multiple store projects
  • Coordinate updates between Design, Construction, Real Estate, and external partners

Documentation & Process Support

  • Organize and maintain project files, including drawings, plans, and approvals
  • Track permit submissions, approvals, and status updates
  • Manage document flow across shared systems (e.g., SharePoint or similar)

Construction Coordination

  • Monitor progress updates and flag potential risks or delays
  • Track milestones across both internal teams and external partners (including landlords)
  • Support coordination of construction-related communications and updates

Team & Administrative Support

  • Assist with preparing presentations and project materials for reviews
  • Support scheduling, invoice tracking, and general coordination tasks

What Weโ€™re Looking For

Weโ€™re looking for someone withย project-based work experience who isย ready to build on that foundation.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have 1โ€“3 years of experienceย
  • Have exposure to project planning, design development, construction documentation, or permitting processes
  • Understand or have worked with project milestones and timelines
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Can manage multiple tasks and follow through on deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and work well across teams
  • Are proactive and take ownership of tasks

Key Experience That Will Set You Apart

  • Exposure to design development, construction drawings, or permit processes
  • Experience tracking project milestones across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working with external partners (vendors, landlords, consultants, etc.)
  • Familiarity with project documentation or shared file systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tracking tools

Why This Role

  • Gain hands-on experience across the full retail store development lifecycle
  • Work closely with design, construction, and real estate teams
  • Build foundational skills in project planning and coordination
  • Exposure to real-world construction and permitting processes

Role Details

  • San Francisco-based (4 days onsite required)
  • Contract role with potential to extend
  • Standard full-time hours

Who This Is Perfect For

Candidates who:

  • Have had some exposure to design, construction, or project planning environments
  • Enjoy tracking details, timelines, and milestones
  • Want to grow in retail development, construction, or project coordination
  • Are comfortable working across multiple teams and priorities

This role is not focused on hands-on design or creative productionโ€”itโ€™s centered on coordination, organization, and supporting project execution.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $27 to $31/hr. Compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.ย
