Job description

PURPOSE:  Represent and promote the store operations in an up-beat manner, which insures customer satisfaction and maximum efficiency for the store. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Immediately greet every customer upon arrival in the store.
  • Assist customers in their needs and demonstrate concern.
  • Make sales transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Develop the ability of “Suggestive Selling”.
  • Maintain stock on shelves and coolers.
  • Complete shift reports in accordance with company guidelines
  • Treat customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Develop the ability to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash register, computers and other equipment.
  • Adhere to all the city, county and state liquor, tobacco and health regulations.
  • Assist the store manager in seeing that the store maintains a store inspection grade of at least 85%.
  • Willingness to attend company functions and meetings.
  • Maintain parking lot, empty trash and keep overall grounds free of litter.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to perform arithmetical calculations at the eight-grade level.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a cooler at a temperature of 32 degrees, up to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to work in an inside and outside environment, in all kinds of weather.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the job.
  • Be able to sweep, mop and vacuum floor.  Dust shelves, and lift and carry out trash and place in dumpster.
