Requirement Description:

Ready Support Services (RSS) is seeking a Senior Information Technology (IT) Storage Backup System Engineer (Systems Engineer III) (onsite) at our Customer Program Chantilly VA. The selected candidate will be assigned to a National Systems ISP/ASP program primarily within our government services product line to fill the role of Systems Engineer III to help create, deploy and support an element of the customer’s Future Ground Architecture and Infrastructure Service Provider platform. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring continuity of operations across 6 data center sites and one test site using High Availability technologies. Candidate will support the server processing and virtualization needs of multiple AD domains and their respective infrastructure services and tenant systems. Candidate will lead large scale migrations from highly varied legacy environments to new, standardized environments. The position will be supporting the Operations and Maintenance, Post Deployment and Integration aspects of new technology that is continuing to be deployed to the customer sites. The selected candidate will have roles in the following areas and may include responsibilities not limited to: (1) Work with multi-discipline teams in the support and sustainment of the IT systems, (2) Creation of technical work products, (3) Evaluate customer change requests, (4) Engage with customer and 3rd party operations organizations to understand how new systems will impact the customer tenant organization, and (5) Create and brief status and plans to customer change board meetings as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Experience with NetApp and Hitachi storage technologies including but not limited to application integration, replication, mirroring, de-duplication
  • Presentation, including Block Level Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and File Level Common Internet File System (CIFS) and Network File System (NFS)
  • Experience monitoring and managing storage and backup across an enterprise environment including developing and updating processes and procedures
  • Experience with NetBackup version 8.1.x running on a Linux platform
  • Experience with configuring intelligent query VM level, and NDMP backup policies
  • Experience with configuring client based Windows, Linux, CentOS and Solaris backup Policies
  • Experience with configuring bare metal backup policies
  • Experience with troubleshooting backup failures
  • Experience securing data across an enterprise and ensuring the enterprise has enough capacity to grow and keep up-to-date with upgrades and security requirements
  • Experience Developing and maintaining backup plans and schedules and continuously analyzing evolving backup and storage needs
  • Experience executing backup processes and procedures required to backup and restore user data and systems
  • Experience maintaining and managing backup and storage systems (including storage area network (SAN) and network area storage (NAS))
  • Capacity management Experience
  • Experience Conducting system restoration activities as needed on a 24x7x365 basis
  • Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification required
  • An Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly security clearance

Education and Experience Required:
