SSI is seeking an experienced, independent professional to lead business development activities for our HUBZone small business. The BD Executive is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and positioning SSI as the contractor of choice for both prime and subcontractor DoD opportunities which align with our core capabilities and targeted growth to Federal government agencies.

Leading business winning pursuits


  • Conducting market analysis and gathering competitive intelligence
  • Evaluating and managing a 3-5 year pipeline of business opportunities
  • Maintaining and current and thorough CRM
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of winning proposals
  • Engaging current and potential government customers
  • Managing Partnership relations
  • Representing the company at events, organizations, tradeshows
  • Investigating partnerships and acquisition opportunities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in capture management, business development, or a related role, with a focus on small business and/or HUBZone environments
  • Proven track record of successfully capturing new business opportunities with Navy customers
  • Strong understanding of the government contracting process and relevant regulations
  • Experience working with Federal Agencies with Navy experience
  • In depth understanding of information technology services and solutions including infrastructure support, network operations, virtual data storage, cyber security and information assurance
  • In depth understanding of Federal acquisition processes, resources, and methods
  • Must be self-driven, with excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to be productive as a 100% telecommuter
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Occasional travel to customer and company work locations and/or industry events may be required
