Job Summary:
InterSources Inc is a certified Small Business Enterprise specializing in IT Consulting and Staffing Solutions. They are seeking a Storage & Backup EMC professional to support EMC Storage devices, manage storage volumes, and ensure data backup and recovery processes are efficient and effective.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Support for EMC Storage devices
โ€ข Assign and initialize Storage volumes;
โ€ข Provision, Configure and monitor thin provision volumes, where appropriate;
โ€ข Determine file and volume placement;
โ€ข Configure and Manage RAID parameters;
โ€ข Configure and Manage controller optimization (e.g., load balance pair failover);
โ€ข For SAP HANA deployments, Configure and Manage General Parallel File System (GPFS):
โ€ข Configure de-duplication and compression where applicable;
โ€ข Utilize advanced hypervisor integration (e.g. VAAI, VVOL, Storage DRS);
โ€ข Configure and Manage data snapshot and replication procedures and Tools;
โ€ข Optimize and automate deployment of new Storage capabilities (e.g., scripting);
โ€ข Perform rebuilds on crashed volumes and initializing new volumes;
โ€ข Continually perform performance tuning of Storage Subsystems in relation to usage patterns by applications and demonstrate obtained efficiencies in storage utilization annually;
โ€ข Adhere to and enforce customer disk quota practices;
โ€ข Implement Storage Management and optimization processes to Maintain Ralph Lauren directed headroom on all Storage Subsystems and add Capacity as required;
โ€ข Support Storage encryption activities, as directed by Ralph Lauren;
โ€ข Perform catalog management and data migrations as required;
โ€ข Reclaim and wipe Storage volumes;
โ€ข Keep firmware, microcode, OS software Updated and current;
โ€ข Perform data replication testing

โ€ข Install and Configure add-on Tools that enable specialized backups where required, block-level incremental backups, image bare metal, etc.
โ€ข Install and Configure disk array-based mirror and split technologies where appropriate and as determined by Client business requirements
โ€ข Install and Configure disk array, data protection appliance and/or disk volume management software-based replication technologies as appropriate and as determined by Client business requirements
โ€ข Install and Configure virtual tape libraries and disk-based backups were appropriate based on Client requirements
โ€ข Perform regular system backups in accordance with Client backup schedule
โ€ข Perform regular tests of backup and restore processes as defined by Client Backup and Recovery procedures and deliver documented results to Client
โ€ข In addition to incremental and full backups, perform backups prior to and after Major Level Upgrade Changes and after significant Application Software batch processing periods as requested by Client
โ€ข Manage backup data so as to enable the recovery from an Outage or data corruption in compliance with service metrics
โ€ข Ensure recovery action is Approved by Client Security Leadership
โ€ข Identify the most recent fully recoverable backup and all incremental backups executing on the impacted drive(s)
โ€ข If required, retrieve the backup media from offsite Storage
โ€ข Communicate to Client a plan and timeline for completing the restore, including interfacing and co-planning with Client application teams, if required
โ€ข Execute the recovery by loading the latest fully recoverable backup and then restoring the incremental backups to the impacted drive(s)
โ€ข Where implemented, execute a restore to a replicated backup Operating System instance and associated systems Storage
โ€ข Test and validate the Normal Operations of the drive(s)
โ€ข Return the drive(s) to production
