Class A CDL Driver


Southwest Mobile Storage in Austin, TX is looking for an expert CDL-A driver. You are the eyes, ears and heart of our business, connecting operations and sales to provide the best service to our customers. We’re a team-oriented company, so there will be times when you’ll be asked to adjust your route or delivery schedule and use your own independent judgement. 


Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles including trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Deliver, relocate, and pick up storage containers, offices, and equipment at customer job sites and branch locations.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment before and after trips to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate with dispatch, customers, and branch personnel regarding delivery schedules, site conditions, and operational updates.
  • Secure loads and ensure proper transportation procedures are followed.
  • Complete driver logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and operational documentation accurately.
  • Provide professional customer service during deliveries and pickups.
  • Assist with basic equipment setup, placement, and operational support as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Class A CDL license required
  • Current DOT medical card required
  • Clean driving record preferred
  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Experience operating tilt bed, landoll, or trailer equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspections required
  • Ability to safely secure and transport loads required
  • Safe driving and equipment operation
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Time management and route coordination
  • Problem solving and adaptability


Preferred Skills Needed for Success:

  • Prior experience with a heavy duty 10-wheel rollback winch truck with hydraulic tilt bed a plus
  • Towing experience a plus
  • Landoll trailer experience helpful
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Have a safety-oriented mind set
