Assistant Facilities Manager - JLL

What this job involves: As an Assistant Facilities Manager at JLL, you will support the delivery of high-quality facilities management services across a portfolio of government-operated industrial and office properties throughout eastern Washington, Idaho, and northeastern Montana. Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, this role serves as a key operational lead for maintenance activities, vendor coordination, and client support. You will oversee daily operations for a team of maintenance technicians, help ensure facilities operate efficiently and safely, and contribute to service excellence through proactive maintenance planning, strong stakeholder communication, and responsive issue resolution. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical knowledge of building systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Approximately 20% regional travel is required to support site operations and maintain consistent service delivery standards across the portfolio.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Coordinate daily activities, schedules, and work assignments for maintenance technicians across multiple facilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess facility conditions, identify maintenance needs, and support compliance with safety standards

  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, work order management, and corrective maintenance activities to support operational efficiency

  • Serve as a primary liaison for vendors and service providers, ensuring work is completed according to scope, quality, and contract expectations

  • Partner with the client and internal stakeholders to respond to service requests, resolve operational issues, and maintain strong working relationships

  • Support budget tracking, invoice review, and operational reporting while identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

  • Respond to urgent facility issues and coordinate resources to ensure timely and safe resolution of operational disruptions

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of facilities management or building operations experience in industrial, commercial, or government environments

  • Experience supervising maintenance teams or coordinating work across multiple locations

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced operational setting

  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel approximately 20% throughout the assigned territory

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field

  • Industry certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or similar credentials

  • Experience supporting government contracts or public sector facilities operations

  • Familiarity with industrial, warehouse, or specialized operational environments

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, building codes, and environmental compliance requirements

  • Experience supporting budgets, financial reporting, and capital planning activities

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 PM

Salary: $35.43 - $46.61

Estimated compensation for this position:

73,700.00 - 96,965.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
