Job description

Position: Senior NetApp Storage Consultant / Storage SME

Location: Hybrid at New Jersey / New York City area– Onsite 2 days per week and as needed for critical production issues

Duration: 10 months

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior NetApp Storage Consultant to support a key enterprise customer. This role requires a senior-level storage professional who can act as a trusted advisor, lead complex storage initiatives, and provide proactive consulting beyond day-to-day operational support.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in NetApp ONTAP, FAS, and AFF platforms while also bringing experience with modern infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes and NetApp ASA Fibre Channel environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary Storage Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise NetApp environments.
  • Design, implement, and optimize NetApp ONTAP storage solutions.
  • Lead and execute complex storage projects, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Provide proactive recommendations to improve storage performance, scalability, availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related issues in mission-critical environments.
  • Partner with customer stakeholders to develop long-term storage strategies and best practices.
  • Support NetApp FAS, AFF, and ASA storage platforms.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud teams to deliver integrated storage solutions.
  • Participate in onsite meetings and provide hands-on support during critical production events when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of enterprise storage administration and engineering experience.
  • Expert-level experience with NetApp ONTAP.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with NetApp FAS and AFF storage systems.
  • Experience leading enterprise storage implementations, migrations, and modernization projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Ability to work independently while serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers.
  • Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NetApp ASA (All SAN Array).
  • Hands-on experience with Fibre Channel SAN environments.
  • Experience supporting or integrating storage with Kubernetes platforms.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies and enterprise data center environments.
