Sakura Gardens: We are growing Landscape company based in Oakville, that has been in business for 15 years. We look towards Nature to provide us with the best resources to design, create, and care for our landscapes. We specialize in residential garden design, installation and maintenance and offer a range of services, including garden renovations and upgrades, yearly maintenance planning, monthly garden maintenance, pest and disease management, and expert pruning.

About working with us: Establish your roots with Sakura Garden. Our goal is to create a family where we grow together to strengthen our environment and support each other as a team. We look to develop our team as we develop our gardens, with care and thoughtfulness towards long term health and sustainability. Our project-based approach and unique services means you will be regularly doing fun and creative work, while avoiding the common repetitive jobs involved with most landscaping such as lawn care. What we love about our work is that each day presents us with a new landscape and new goals to achieve.

Our Season and Your Role:

  • We work an average of 40 hours per week.
  • Our season starts as early inย April as the weather allows with a goal of having the season wrapped up by mid December.
  • Garden maintenance - cultivating, weeding, fertilizing, perennial care, pruning
  • Available for early morning starts to load truck and trailer, and water and weed plant inventory
  • Near the end of workday load trailer and clean work site, including sweeping and blowing
  • Operate small equipment like backpack blowers, hedge trimers, etc.
  • Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals
  • Build gardens - site setup, digging and wheelbarrowing, planting and mulching
  • Lay flagstone and place armour stone
  • Learn and expand knowledge of landscape maintenance and garden installation
  • Organization projects in our shop
  • Self guided training and education

ย Compensation:

  • These roles pay $21/hr to $26/hr depending on experience and skills.

Miscellaneous Information

  • Provides own transportation
  • Basic tools provided for $200 and bought back at the end of summer for $180
  • Contract signed at start of employment
  • Staff member so taxes deducted with each paycheque or subcontractor status
