Job description

Job Title: Stock Clerk
Position Summary:
The Stock Clerk is responsible for ensuring that the grocery section of the store is fully stocked, organized, and ready for customers. This includes assisting in the receiving, storing, and stocking of products, while ensuring proper product rotation and quality. Stock Clerks create and build product displays, ensure the fronting of products is accurate, and handle product damage and credits according to company policy. The role requires strong knowledge of store products, locations, and excellent customer service to assist with product location requests. Stock Clerks also perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment, as well as bagging/loading customers grocery and running cash registers as needed.
General Purpose:
The Stock Clerk ensures that the store's inventory is well-maintained, product displays are set up, and that customers have access to fresh, high-quality products. This role also involves performing general store maintenance tasks to ensure the store remains clean and orderly for customers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Receive, store, and stock products, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO) and maintaining product quality.
  • Build attractive and organized product displays to highlight promotions or seasonal items.
  • Ensure products are fronted properly on shelves, making sure labels and pricing are visible.
  • Handle product damages and process credits according to company policy.
  • Assist customers by helping them locate items within the store and providing product information when needed.
  • Take "return" products and return them to their proper shelf locations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom and store shelves, ensuring no empty or cluttered sections.
  • Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and keep the store entrances clear of carts.
  • Sweep and mop floors to ensure cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Assist in the prompt cleanup of spills or other hazards to ensure a safe environment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties such as wiping down shelves, cleaning glass, and other store upkeep tasks.
  • In addition to stocking duties, perform all cashier tasks, including ringing up purchases and handling cash transactions when needed. Bag customers groceries and load them into their car as needed.
  • Follow all store policies and procedures, particularly those related to safety and product handling.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements
