Job description

The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal is operated by Greenwich Terminals LLC and is one of the most productive terminals in the United States.
The facility employs 12 highly productive and safe in-house labor crews and offers 19 start times which creates greater flexibility for vessel departure and arrival times. This adds up to cargo being moved faster, discharged faster, and saves distributors time and money.
Position Overview:
A growing Philadelphia area stevedore and terminal operating company is seeking highly motivated individuals for full-time Superintendent positions. Successful candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, drug-free environment. In this role, candidates will direct, supervise, and assign work to ILA Longshoremen, monitor loading and unloading sequences to meet all safety and productivity standards, oversee employee attendance, and resolve personnel issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems, anticipate issues before they arise, and follow through to completion
  • Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to supervise and direct groups of individuals
  • Ability to assume a leadership role and actively participate in the company safety program
  • Ability to coordinate with internal departments, customers and their agents, and vendors
  • Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn in-house systems
  • Vessel experience and/or marine terminal operations experience preferred
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts as required
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC Card

Qualifications: Prior stevedoring and/or supervisory experience is a plus. Familiarity with marine terminal operations and vessel experience is preferred but not required - on-the-job training will be provided.
