Job description

Position Summary
As a Sterile Processing Technician for STERIS, you'll work behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment, impacting patient safety without being patient facing. Working in the Sterile Processing Department, you will support surgical procedures by ensuring medical instruments are clean, sterile, organized, and available for the surgical team.
This is an onsite role at a STERIS facility based in Concord, NC, supporting overnight shift, midnight to 8:30 am Tuesday through Saturday.
What you'll do as a Sterile Processing Technician II:
  • What you'll do as a Sterile Processing Technician II:
    • Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next case.

    • Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets.

    • Participate in regular on-site training

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
  • Required:
    • High School diploma or GED

    • 2+ years of SPD experience with demonstrated proficiency in all SPD Technician responsibilities, including a solid proficiency and ability to work independently with all tray sets.

    • CRCST/ CSPDT, CST or CER/CFER, CST certification is required. Must also obtain CIS/CSIS, CHL/CSPM or STERIS Assessment certification within 12 months of hire.

    • Must maintain certification by completing 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours annually

    Preferred:
    • Completion of a Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist program

Pay range for this opportunity is $20.43 - $26.44.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
