Job Description:

Work Schedule: 3pm - 11:30pm, weekend call rotation required.

  • Performs decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and infection prevention standards.
  • Operates and monitors sterilization equipment, selecting appropriate sterilization methods, reviewing sterilizer records, and verifying parameters before releasing items for patient care.
  • Assembles and prepares instrument trays and complex surgical sets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation within tracking systems.
  • Maintains sterility assurance and quality control by verifying indicators and lot stickers, documenting sterilization activities, and managing recall procedures for sterilization failures.
  • Collaborates with hospital departments and team members to support workflow efficiency, resolve issues, train new staff, and rotate through all Central Sterile Processing functions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
