Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Surgical Services Manager and the administrative supervision of the Director of Surgical Services, the sterile processing lead is responsible for processing instrument trays, maintaining sterilizers, maintaining sterilization log books, overseeing sterile processing technicians, and professing other supplies necessary for surgical and/or procedures in ancillary departments at Medial City Lewisville Hospital according to AAMI, AORN, and Joint Commission standards.  


The position requires flexibility in working hours. Sterile Processing is a fast paced environment with many distractions and requires flexibility in setting job priorities according to customer as well as departmental needs.   


The lead technician must demonstrate organizational skills and efficiency and use time effectively.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading the preparation, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, making sure all items are properly cleaned and ready for use 
  • Organizing instruments and equipment based on surgery schedules and special case needs 
  • Monitoring sterilization processes and equipment performance, keeping accurate records, and promptly reporting any issues 
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workspace that supports the team and upholds the highest infection control standards 
  • Training and supporting team members to work safely, follow best practices, and care for every patient like family 
What qualifications you will need:
  • (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Able to take call and respond within 30 minutes.
