Position Overview

Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization procedures, and maintaining compliance with infection prevention standards in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and quality assurance measures
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support operating room and clinical departments with timely instrument turnaround
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized sterile processing environment
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of Sterile Processing experience required
  • Active state license/certification required where applicable
  • Current Sterile Processing certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, instrumentation, and infection control standards
  • Ability to work day shift with call responsibilities
  • Flu vaccine required — no exceptions
Additional Assignment Details
  • Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
  • Maximum of 3 requested days off permitted during the 13-week assignment
  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment per facility policy
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • Holiday coverage not required
  • No bilingual requirement
