TheFirst Year Experience (FYE)Coordinatorreports directly to theTRIODirector of Student Support Servicesand serves to create, support, andfacilitatestudent engagement for our TRIO SSS and SSS STEM first-year students.FYECoordinatorwilloverseesignificant aspects of the first-year experience, including chairing the First-Year ExperienceAdvisoryCommittee,develop andmaintainthe First-Year ExperienceCanvas course, andisresponsible forthe hiring, training, andevaluation ofFirst-Year Experience Student Leaders, the Communications Intern, and SummerStudent Ambassadors.The FYECoordinatorwill alsoparticipateinrecruiting,identifying, and enrolling eligible studentsduring UW Oshkosh's Titan Takeoff Orientationsalong with supporting SSS and SSS STEMAcademicAdvisors and theStudentSuccessCoach withpersistence,retentionand graduation initiatives of the programs.The FYE Coordinatorwilloversee TRIO SSSandSSS STEM program communication and socialmediaas well asmaintaincurrent andaccurateprogram filestobe incompliance withthefederal regulations and college policies.

During the academic year, evening hours on a weekly basis may berequired. Evening hours in the summer and weekend hours during both the academic year and summer on an occasional basis arerequired.

25% OverseeTRIO SSSandSSS STEM program communication and socialmedia.This includes thesupervision oftheCommunication InternandoverseeingtheTRIO SSSand SSSSTEM communication mediums such asthe TRIO SSS newsletter, program flyers,andsocial media platforms.Programcommunication and social media responsibilities includes the following:

• Developand implement social media strategies,createcontent,managesocial media accounts, andanalyzeperformance metrics.

• Assist with social media tasks, such as scheduling posts, researching trends, and engaging with followers.

• Produce engaging content for variousplatforms, including graphics, videos, and written posts for the program.

• Assist the Director of TRIO SSSand SSSSTEM with website management and upkeep.

5% Perform otherduties asassigned by theTRIOSSS/SSS STEM director.

5%Support the programobjectivesof theTRIOSSS/SSS STEM Grantbyassisting torecruit eligible students into the program and obtain documentation to verify program eligibility.Be an advocate for first-generation and limited-income students by servingon campus committees andparticipatingin campus events and activitiesthat support ourTRIOSSS/SSS STEM students.

35%Responsible forthe planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating afirst-year experienceprogram aimed at increasing the engagement, persistence, retention, and success of new studentsparticipatinginthe TRIO SSS and SSS STEM programs.

• Responsible forfacilitatinglearning opportunitiesthrough the use ofa Canvas course which focuses onfirst-yearexperience incollege studenttopics.
• Create curriculum to includestudent successstrategies,educate FYE Student Leadersabout the numerous campusresourcesavailable, andprovide opportunities for FYE Student Leaders to help new students engage and participateincampuslifeevents andopportunities(i.e. student organizations and clubs,TitanFest, career and graduate fairs,etc).
• Responsible for providing financial literacy awareness to TRIO SSS/SSS STEM students by working with the Director, SSS/SSS STEM Academic Advisors, and the Success Coach, specifically providing awareness on UW Oshkosh's scholarships and TRIO SSS scholarship opportunities.
• Establishgood collaboration relationshipswith variouson-campusand off-campuspartners to create a supportive environment fornew incoming collegestudents, especially those from first-generation and low-income backgrounds.

30% Recruits, hires, and manages the First-Year Experience Student LeadersandtheStudent Ambassadorsto include supervisory responsibilities for the following:

• Making sure FYE Student Leaders, Intern, and Student Ambassadorsare aware of campus resources andmakeproperreferralsto other service providers on campus such as the Center for Academic Resources, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts, Counseling Center, Reading/Study Center, Disability Services, Project Success, etc.

• Provide weeklytrainingandprovidestudent development opportunitiesto include FERPA training, understanding UW Oshkosh Student Code of Conduct, andgetting Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certified.

• Responsible for weeklycheck inmeetingsandprovidingsupervisionand accountabilityfor job duties and semester performance evaluations.

• Trains and provides guidanceinhandlingstudent situations and concernsin accordance withestablished institutional policies and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, human services, or related field.
• Experience working with educational programs specifically with marginalized, underrepresented student populations.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in an educational setting.
• Experience with understanding social media platforms and creating media content.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and off-campus constituents.
• Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.

• Master's degree in counseling, higher education, or a related field.
• Experience supporting the needs of first-generation, income eligible students.
• Experience with curriculum development using a Learning. Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience with Student Support Services (SSS) and/or other TRIO programs.
