About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Steel Erector Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple steel erection projects along the eastern seaboard and throughout the Carolinas. This role is critical to ensuring safe work practices, maintaining project schedules, guiding our crews, and representing the company with professionalism and integrity.

As a Superintendent, you’ll oversee day-to-day field operations, lead multiple crews, enforce safety standards, and serve as the primary point of contact between the project site and company leadership.


What You’ll Do

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct and supervise steel erection crews and field operations.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve project goals.

  • Enforce strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance at all times.

  • Read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, drawings, and plans.

  • Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, clients, and vendors.

  • Plan workflow and organize multiple active job sites.

  • Monitor on-site inventory and equipment usage.

  • Provide regular updates to management on progress, timelines, issues, and needs.

  • Resolve field problems quickly and professionally to maintain project efficiency.

  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to company standards.

  • Train employees on proper safety procedures and job-site practices.

  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative company culture.


Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years in steel erection, including at least 1 year in a superintendent or leadership role.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to build teams, motivate crews, and coordinate multiple operations.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints

    • Knowledge of steel construction terminology

    • Competent in equipment and machinery oversight

  • Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations; ability to train others in safety compliance.

  • Communication: Clear, professional communication with customers, vendors, and team members.

  • License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Language: English required. Spanish is not required, but it is a significant bonus.

  • Travel: Must be willing to travel based on project needs.

  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Technical Ability: Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
