A Steel Erector specializes in assembling structural steel frameworks in both indoor and outdoor environments, working under the guidance of a Foreman and reporting directly to the Site Supervisor. They collaborate with multiple crews across various sites, sometimes requiring travel to different states, to ensure safe and efficient steel erection aligned with project blueprints and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble steel structures accurately following blueprints and specifications
  • Interpret and apply blueprint reading for precise construction
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and site protocols
  • Prepare work sites for steel erection activities
  • Maintain and operate erection equipment safely and efficiently
  • Handle and manage steel materials and components
  • Coordinate effectively with multiple crew members to meet project goals

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in steel erection

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • OSHA safety certification
  • Proficient in blueprint reading
  • Welding skills
  • Experience with steel assembly, particularly red iron
