Sunset Steel Erectors seeks a ONSITE STEEL ERECTOR IRON WORKER FORMAN must be able to work in a team environment and give clear directive to project team while develop good working relationship with client, vendors, sub-contractors, and employees.
Position, salary, and benefits commensurate with experience (5 years minimum)
Duties:

  • Running and operating a steel erection team.
  • Running and operating onsite rented or owned equipment, such as: forklifts, scissor lifts, welding machines, boom lifts, and cranes.
  • Complete knowledge of Steel Erection Drawings.
  • Act as liaison between office, shop, subcontractors, and GC.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work performed by sub-contractors or employees to ensure that the project is completed on time
  • Oversee the delivery of materials, construction tools and equipment to the job site
  • Attend onsite meetings, visit job site, and take field measurements as required
  • Ensure that all safety precautions are adhered to by our entire team.
  • Monitor the compliance and set regulations and project specs
  • Schedule meetings and hold active discussions for, erectors, and safety personnel.
  • Fill out proper safety paperwork, field work tickets, and all other paperwork.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Onsite Forman in commercial construction
  • Ability to read structural steel shop drawings, erection drawings and architectural/structural plans
  • Ability to successfully coordinate with clients toward building long term relationships
  • Solid teamwork and communication skills
  • Must have the ability to multitask and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as being adept at conflict resolution
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 certification
  • Technology experience in order to file electronic paperwork.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check
