The Position: We are looking to add supervisors to our Steelmaking team to better support the hourly workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safety performance and day-to-day work activities of approximately 20 hourly employees.
  • Responsible for adherence to safety, quality, cost performance, and production goals.
  • Coordinate maintenance repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Responsible for on-shift productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, and scrap control.
  • Responsible for on-shift adherence to company/department goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for completing daily shift report detailing EAF, LMF, and Continuous Caster performance.
  • Develop and implement plans to increase productivity and quality while decreasing costs at the EAF, LMF, and Caster.
  • Occasionally directs Maintenance Supervisor and Raw Material Supervisor.
  • Trains new employees to the work area and completes all progress reports in a timely manner.
  • Interface effectively with other members of supervision, personnel from other departments and ISWA personnel.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
    • Will consider a high school graduate with a minimum of three (3) years melting and/or casting experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must be capable of supervising employees according to union rules and regulations
  • Must be capable of using personal computers and Microsoft software.

PAY RANGE: $59,400-$74,300 (SG22)

DISCRETIONARY TARGET BONUS: 12%
