Job description

Our Detroit, Michigan metal processing facility is the home to 3 highly efficient pieces of processing equipment to provide finished coils and rectangular blanks to the automotive, agricultural, defense, tubing, shelving, and furniture industries, among other metal manufacturing sectors. We are currently looking for General Laborers, Crane Operators and Machine Operators.

Qualifications

  • All candidates must be able to work Monday through Friday and overtime when needed on Saturdays
  • Applicant must be able to pass physical exam and drug screen
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Adhere to attendance policy
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Team player, self-starter, motivated.

Work Environment

This job operates in a heavy industrial steel processing and distribution plant. When on the plant floor the required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be appropriately worn.

Physical Demands

The employee is often required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Previous crane and/or forklift operating experience is a plus
