Job description

Steel Detailer

A busy mechanical contractor located in Kennett Square, PA is seeking a Steel Detailer to join their team. This person will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models, detailed plans, and fabrication deliverables for structural steel, support steel (columns, beams, braces, trusses, stairs, handrails, joists, metal decking, etc.), and related components using Advance Steel software. Job responsibilities include developing detailed 3D models of structural and support steel utilizing Advance Steel; producing shop drawings, erection plans, foundation plans, and material lists for fabrication; coordinating models with piping, building structure, and other trades; identifying clashes and participating in BIM coordination meetings; ensuring drawings comply with company standards, AISC requirements, and project guidelines; and optimizing existing designs to aid equipment layout and module transportation. Job requirements include 3-5+ years of steel detailing experience; AutoCAD and Advance Steel experience; ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings; understanding of structural steel components; and must pass a drug test.
