Steel Detailing Project Manager (Tekla PowerFab Experience Preferred)

Position Summary
A growing steel fabrication company is seeking a Detailing Project Manager to oversee all phases of assigned detailing and connection design projects. This role serves as the primary point of contact for both customers and internal teams, ensuring the successful coordination, communication, and execution of detailing efforts from project kickoff through final completion.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main liaison for assigned projects, maintaining clear communication with clients, internal departments, and other trades.
  • Manage detailing and connection design workflows from start to finish, ensuring projects remain on schedule and meet customer expectations.
  • Track key milestones and adjust priorities as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
  • Facilitate the timely and accurate flow of project information from clients to the production team.
  • Monitor project progress across multiple jobs with varying levels of complexity and completion.
  • Oversee the review and submission of change orders, providing clear explanations as needed.
  • Support the billing process and assist in the collection of project-related payments.
  • Maintain alignment with internal project management processes and standards.
  • Coordinate detailing efforts with fabrication and erection teams to ensure constructability and efficiency.
Experience and Skills
  • Prior experience working for a Structural Steel Fabricator or Structural Steel Detailing company in the U.S. is required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale, complex projects.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using Tekla PowerFab is preferred.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in a professional setting.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic computer file management.
  • Experience with steel modeling software is a plus.
  • This role requires relocation, and relocation assistance is provided. (This requirement is non-negotiable.)
