Job Description

  • Teach a variety of data science and statistics courses primarily in an in-person format.
  • Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
  • Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of data science or statistics.
  • Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
  • Contribute tostudent growth and development including student advising.
  • Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
  • Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
  • Teach courses using an innovative and modern curriculum.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of the curriculum in data science and statistics.
  • Supervise capstone experiences, e.g. student research projects, internships, etc.

Salary Range: $64,963 - $193,146; commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D in Data Science, Statistics, or Biostatistics with an anticipated completion date before August 2027.
  • Experience teaching an undergraduate data science or statistics course as the primary instructor or as a teaching assistant.

  • Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
