Job Summary
Collects, develops, analyzes and communicates energy policy and development data and other information to internal and external constituents of the Energy Policy Center (EPC). Models techno-economic strategies for energy systems. Develops seminars, workshops and educational materials related to research and public policy analysis in the area of energy systems. Assists Center's director in grant awards maintenance and budget related duties. Supervises assigned student personnel. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, physical science, environmental science, business administration, public administration, urban studies or related fields.
  • Two (2) years experience in data analysis.
  • Experience with relational databases and statistical research, data retrieval, and query e.g. geographic information systems (GIS), Python, Numpy.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced (Ph.D., J.D. or Masters) Degree in Math/Physics/Engineering/Law/Environmental Science/Economics or Planning/Public Administration.
  • Previous data analysis experience in a university setting.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, grant administration, accounting software, and analysis of public finance.
  • Working knowledge of economic development research methods, theories, and analyses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of information systems, research software, research databases and statistical analysis.
  • Proficient in GIS mapping and analyses.
  • Experience with relational databases and statistical research, data retrieval, and query.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment while managing multiple projects and meeting project deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with presentation software, such as Adobe, Acrobat Pro and Photoshop.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
