POSITION SUMMARY
Assists with human-subject research projects and mission-effectiveness evaluation of church programs, ministries, and organizations, and the publication of results. Provides assistance and support services for job-related tasks and different aspects of the Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research.
COMPENSATION
  • Full - time hourly position with benefits
  • Remuneration: Grade 5 ($22.67 - $34.01)

SUPERVISOR
Research & Eval Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs various clerical duties including typing, answering phones, managing and responding to project-related correspondence, preparing and completing research applications, forms, minutes, lists of addresses, preparing and publishing the online Research Newsletter and social media.
  • Assists supervisor in research, data collection, data management, and/or data analysis.
  • Retrieves and verifies the accuracy of data entered in databases for various publications.
  • Maintains research and evaluation records.
  • Assists supervisor in developing assessment and evaluation tools, questionnaires, and list of questions for focus groups or individual interviews.
  • Facilitates gathering of materials and data for various projects and reports; handles and protects confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
  • Performs various editorial duties; writes, reviews, edits, proofreads, and formats text and various materials for publications using MS Word, Adobe InDesign, and other publishing software available in ASTR.
  • Prepares materials for submission in reports or PowerPoint presentations including, but not limited to, tables, graphs, fact sheets, and abstracts/summaries of research results, findings for publication, literature or report reviews.
  • Assists in providing external research teams working on human-subject research projects with needed material.
  • Identifies previous records and reports on human-subject research, program assessment, and mission-effectiveness evaluation, using various platforms, software, and physical finding aids. Assists with labeling and shelving of documents and publications.
  • Conducts research on topical areas as requested including web searches.
  • Assembles and organizes electronic and hard-copy records identified as above and reports on research findings and potential relevance, and summarizes them in bibliographic format, facilitating their presentation in research reports, publications, etc.
  • Scans source materials to make them available for internal research or online for external researchers.
  • Provides assistance with event planning and conducting meetings and conferences.
  • Prepares progress reports for supervisor on research and evaluation projects.
  • Acts as recording secretary for the Future Plans Working Group.
  • Sometimes travels to ASTR-approved conferences for professional development and exhibits.
  • Must be a member in regular standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Must maintain a regular and reliable work schedule.
  • Performs other job-related duties for supervisor or director as assigned.
