PURPOSE OF POSITION:
  • To be the catalyst for technical problem solving and continuous improvement on a production line.
  • Works as part of a team dedicated to continuous improvement to meet customer requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Emphasize and show commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production process to improve; product flow, yield, and uptime.
  • Optimize the current equipment and improve process capabilities.
  • Use problem solving techniques to identify root cause issues.
  • Be the line expert in problem solving and train/lead the team in problem solving efforts.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the line support team.
  • Eliminate variation in the production process caused by equipment and/or product design.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for this variation.
  • Prioritize projects and issues that are associated with the production line using best business practices.
  • Able to leverage other technical resources to accomplish needed line improvements.
  • Interface with other departments on the production teams' behalf to ensure that quality and customer requirements are met.
  • Manage the implementation of both permanent and temporary process changes and/or process equipment.
  • Be the owner of the process control methods to maintain and improve process capability.
  • Be the leader in product and process improvement on the production line.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with production GL's, PSE's, and team members to resolve quality issues, line rejects/RMA.
  • Owns the technical responses to 8D/RMA quality concerns.
  • Be a mentor for incoming PSE's that want to be more technical in the process and problem solving of issues.
  • Assist in the development of Control Plans, FMEA's, Process Flow Charts and Assembly Drawings.
  • Provide resources and remove barriers allowing teams to be effective.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
  • Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

POSITION DEMANDS:
  • 4-year college degree in a technical, scientific or related field preferred.
  • Minimum manufacturing experience of 1 year preferred.
  • Ability to understand/use SolidWorks, PLC's and other manufacturing software platforms beneficial.
  • Work schedule must be suitable for production needs. Some travel required for vendor and customer visits.
  • The ability to learn and network the organization.
