About The Opportunity

A large chemical and manufacturing organization is seeking a Process Control Engineer to support control systems, process automation, and operational reliability within a chemical manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on distributed control systems experience who enjoys solving technical problems, supporting plant operations, and improving system performance. The position offers long-term growth, mentorship, and the opportunity to support highly visible manufacturing operations.

Job Description

The Process Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting distributed control systems, process automation, system configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with plant operations, engineering, maintenance, and technology teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, configure, and support distributed control system applications and related operator interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot control system issues and implement solutions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Support control system hardware, software, network components, workstations, and related infrastructure.
  • Assist with system lifecycle planning, upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.
  • Support process safety activities, including change management, hazard reviews, and startup readiness.
  • Develop and maintain control system documentation, drawings, procedures, and training materials.
  • Support alarm management, system testing, preventive maintenance, and configuration verification.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams to support plant-wide projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support for instrumentation, automated equipment, and related plant systems.
Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed control systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Process engineering or process controls experience within chemical manufacturing or a similar industrial setting.
  • Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining control system applications.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, process safety, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
