Responsibilities
  • Acts as subject matter experts to carriers, vendors, and other external customers for interpretation of carrier data reporting requirements and in the development and monthly production of automated carrier statistical reporting files.
  • Tests and participates in debugging systems and programs against business requirements or leads in system testing and debugging against business requirements.
  • Recommends project acceptance, rejection or modification, and where appropriate, identifies alternatives to effectively shorten testing while maintaining quality.
  • Provides technical assistance by compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical and financial data, based on an understanding of Broadspire application systems, statistical data requirements and our carriers' business objectives.
  • Responds to questions regarding statistical processing, internal and external reporting requirements and to requests for data from internal and external sources.
  • Contributes to the planning process of Broadspire functional departments by attending meetings to gain better insight with respect to analyses and data reporting.
  • Represents Broadspire at meetings with customers, vendors, bureaus, insurance companies, outside consultants, as requested.
  • Develops and communicates business requirements, as identified by carrier customer needs, to analyze systems and reports and may participate in systems design, as needed.
  • Monitors automated or manual systems that affect the statistical reporting processes in that problems are remedied and that appropriate action is taken.
  • Represents the statistical-actuarial departments for our carrier customers and actively seeks up to date information regarding statistical reporting requirements such that our carrier customers' data meets bureau reporting expectations.
  • Contributes to the achievement and development of department and Broadspire goals and objectives, as appropriate.
  • Keeps supervisor informed verbally and in writing of activities and problems within areas of responsibility, refers matters beyond limits of authority and expertise to supervisor for direction.
  • Lead resolution of the most complex technical problems for this unit
  • May also provide work direction for other staff members.
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Qualifications
  • Requires education equivalent to a college degree in mathematics, statistics or related field; or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • At least 4 years of analytical experience in mathematical, financial, or insurance field and or education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related or business administratione related discipline, or the
  • Ability to reprioritize as needed in order to meet deliverable due dates appropriately
  • Analytical ability to gather and study facts and data and draw correct inferences from the data: identify root causes of problems and create solutions; identify inefficient business processes and recommends technological or process improvements.
  • Ability to identify and understand customer needs; takes appropriate action to ensure that customer needs are met. Based on level of expertise, probes beyond stated requests and proactively meets customer needs.
  • Ability to initiate independent action to resolve problems and issues and to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to present work in an organized manner; identify specific activities required to complete reporting and analytical review in a timely manner. Anticipates peak periods and manages work load activities.
  • Ability to cooperate with others tactfully and diplomatically, on projects which require input from various sources working together to develop a final product. Confronts and resolves conflicts while maintaining relationships.
  • Ability to effectively use and design automated tools and processes to more efficiently analyze and report data to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize qualitative and quantitative information in a clear and concise manner so that it can be understood by the intended audience, regardless of position or organization
  • Ability to look beyond current job and view issues in relation to Broadspire as a whole, gain trust, support, commitment and agreement from other. Serves as a role model, acting as a catalyst for change, as well as supporting organizational change.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and averages is required
