Position Summary:

The Statistical Analyst will work under the general guidance of the Director, Biostatistics supporting biostatistics and clinical development activities across ongoing clinical studies, contributing to statistical analyses, data review, and the preparation of high-quality study deliverables. Working collaboratively with biostatisticians and cross-functional study teams, this role will perform hands on statistical programming, generate tables, listings, and visualizations, support data quality and validation activities, and contribute to study documentation and exploratory analyses.

The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and an interest in learning and growing within a collaborative team. Most importantly, they will share our commitment to applying data and science to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with rare diseases.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with biostatisticians and clinical development colleagues to support ongoing clinical study analysis and data review activities.
  • Perform statistical programming and generate summary tables, listings, and visualizations using SAS, R, or similar tools.
  • Assist in quality control and validation of statistical deliverables for clinical study reports, publications, and presentations.
  • Support exploratory data analysis and data cleaning activities as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of statistical analysis plans (SAPs), study protocols, and other study documentation under guidance.
  • Participate in internal team meetings and cross-functional discussions.
  • Provide statistical support to clinical studies or projects and contribute to the execution of analyses of clinical data.
  • Apply established statistical methodologies to transform data into actionable insights to support decision making.
  • Additional duties assigned as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline required. Master's Degree in Statistics/Biostatistics or related quantitative field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, healthcare system, or related field required.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental statistical principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts commonly used in clinical research (e.g., randomization, survival analysis, p-values, confidence intervals).

Additional Skills & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of the drug development process from early to late stage. Experience in orphan or rare diseases is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented, solution-driven, and able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel 5% domestically and internationally.
  • All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego. No role is expected to be 100% remote.

Target Base Pay Range:

$85,000.00 - $105,000.00
