Incumbents of positions in this series prepare and supervise the preparation of surfaces for painting and the application of paint using spray painting equipment.
The basic purpose of this work is to spray paint properly prepared surfaces.
Sprays paints traffic signs, demountable letters, guard rails, equipment and office furniture.
Erects scaffolding for exterior and interior painting.
Prepares surfaces for spray or brush painting by cleaning, sanding, stripping and other approved methods.
Operates and maintains machinery used in spray painting.
Monitors the operation of stripping tanks.
Based on assignment, you may be responsible for the following:
Operate striping machine for painting white lines on highways.
