Job description

Job Title: Data Manager Salary Schedule: Classified;  CHCCS Salary Page  Reports To: School Principal  Salary Grade: 105 Work Location: FLSA Status: Nonexempt Work Schedule: 12 Month   Position Summary

To perform a variety of complex technical functions using the North Carolina Student Information System (NCSIS) and associated applications.

Essential Duties
  • Perform work in the North Carolina Student Information System (NCSIS - Infinite Campus):
    • Verify and edit student information including records for attendance, contacts, and grades, and process other student information depending on school level
    • Run, review, and approve North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) state reports
    • Assist school administrators and counselors with scheduling courses for students
    • Process student withdrawals, including reason for withdrawal
    • Manage staff access and security to the NCSIS
    • Support school staff in collaboration with other school personnel on the basics of using NCSIS
    • Produce and send student reports including, but not limited to, report cards and progress reports
    • Produce data for reports for school needs
  • Manage student cumulative folders (elementary school level)
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of student data.
  • Attend district data manager meetings, district/state conferences, and training sessions
  • Follow all procedures as prescribed by the school principal, district-level director, and state policy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the school principal and/or designee
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Graduation from high school and at least two years of office support experience
  • Exceptional ability to maintain accurate and complete records
  • Exceptional ability to balance and prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Minimum of one year experience in data management or the equivalent of experience with a computer-based system that requires knowledge of editing and completing source data
  • Experience with Google applications (gmail, calendar, sheets, docs, slides)  is preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
