Who are we hiring?The Brand Ambassador, Iowa State Fair, will play a vital role in representing KC Current engaging with the community at the Iowa State Fair. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, personable, and passionate about women's sports and the mission of KC Current. This role requires a strong commitment to promoting our brand, engaging with fans, and assisting in fan engagement initiatives. This is a part-time experience during the dates of the state fair in August and expand our Kansas City Current brand.
What will you do?
  • Serve as an ambassador for KC Current at community events and promotional activities.
  • Engage with fans and the community to promote the KC Current brand, mission, and values.
  • Distribute promotional materials to increase exposure and awareness of the team.
  • Gather feedback from fans and provide insights to help improve the fan experience.
  • Proactively encourage event attendees to fill out "Enter to Win" giveaways and meet event-based Lead Generation goals.
  • Maintain accurate inventory information for swag items.
  • All other duties and directives as assigned by Experiential Field Marketing Manager or their designee

What do you need to succeed?
  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills, organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
  • Maintain a professional demeanor around entertainment groups and high-profile talent.
  • Display high-energy, positive team players, professional appearance and interact well with others, especially the public
  • Exhibit a personable, professional attitude and work well in a team environment
  • Be comfortable with speaking to passersby and event attendees about KC Current and encouraging them to participate and interact with the brand

Qualifications:
  • Reside or be accessible within a commutable distance for daily shifts at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, IA.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in brand ambassadorship, marketing and/or sales, or customer service is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences with enthusiasm.
  • Passion for women's sports and a commitment to supporting KC Current's mission.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule throughout the Iowa State Fair, inclusive of weekends and evening shift
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms during venue conversions.
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
