Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a full time basis in Montreal, in a hybrid arrangement with regular attendance at Taiga's Montreal offices – two to three days per week. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for all areas of controllership including accounting, tax and financial reporting, bookkeeping as well as internal control policies and procedures. 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Manage accounting operations including invoicing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and General Ledger 
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements 
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting 
  • Run month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes 
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting 
  • Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team 
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process 
  • Additional controller duties as necessary


Requirements: 

  • CPA 
  • Proven working experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager 
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS  
  • 5+ years of accounting experience 
  • Experience or exposure to manufacturing or large inventory environments
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills 
  • Experience in documenting and automating month-end close processes  
  • Advanced degree in Accounting 
  • Audit experience at a Big Four firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, or PwC) strongly preferred 
  • Fluency in English and French, written and spoken, as the role requires communication with government authorities in Canada and the United States

Relevant du directeur financier, le candidat retenu sera responsable de tous les aspects de la fonction de contrôleur, y compris la comptabilité, la fiscalité et les rapports financiers, la tenue de livres ainsi que les politiques et procédures de contrôle interne.

  • Gérer les opérations comptables, y compris la facturation, les comptes clients, les comptes fournisseurs et le grand livre. 
  • Préparer et publier les états financiers mensuels dans les délais impartis 
  • Coordonner la préparation des rapports réglementaires 
  • Exécuter les processus de clôture du mois, du trimestre et de l'année. 
  • Assurer le contrôle de la qualité des transactions financières et des rapports financiers 
  • Gérer et respecter les exigences locales, nationales et fédérales en matière de rapports et de déclarations fiscales. 
  • Diriger, encadrer et développer l'équipe comptable

Exigences 

  • CPA 
  • Expérience professionnelle confirmée en tant que contrôleur, contrôleur adjoint ou gestionnaire comptable 
  • Solide connaissance des IFRS 
  • Plus de 5 ans d'expérience en comptabilité 
  • Expérience ou exposition aux environnements de fabrication ou à ceux comportant de grands volumes de stocks.
  • Expérience pratique avec des systèmes ERP (p. ex. NetSuite) et maîtrise avancée d'Excel 
  • Expérience dans la documentation et l'automatisation des processus de clôture mensuelle 
  • Diplôme supérieur en comptabilité 
  • Expérience en audit au sein d'un cabinet Big Four (Deloitte, EY, KPMG ou PwC) fortement souhaitée
