Summary:
Courier transport, pick-up and delivery of parcels, medical supplies, mail banking, x-rays, linen, specimens, and other items as required to/from various Nuvance Health affiliates. Specific daily route, in an established sequence, keeping to a specific time schedule, in order to accomplish tasks. Follow established policies and procedures governing the pick-up, delivery, and transportation of all items.


Responsibilities:

  • Professional in appearance and contacts with all customers
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and on time, adhering to a specified schedule
  • Exercise sound judgment; take appropriate action when management input is unavailable
  • Ensure appropriate handling and disposition of customer property
  • Recognize the importance of stat runs and the urgency of delivering specific medical items in a safe and timely manner
  • Adapt well to quickly changing conditions and work cooperatively as a team member to accomplish tasks
     

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid U. S. Driver’s License, free of any serious violations or excessive accident history/clean driving record
  • Knowledge of the geography of the operating area
  • Prior courier or similar experience and prior customer service experience, preferred
  • Work Conditions:
    Physical strength sufficient to perform the following tasks on objects weighing at least 75 lbs.: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and handling Fine finger movements, gripping and reaching above and below the shoulder is necessary
    Mobility parameters include sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and balancing
    Necessary sensory and perceptual abilities include hearing conversations and other sounds
    Vision must be accurate at far and near distances as well as adequate color, depth, spatial and form perception
    Effectively feel, read, write and speak
    Physical ability and mental aptitude to operate motor vehicles, safely, in all conditions
