Description

The Capture Manager is entrusted with the strategic pursuit of new business opportunities, with a primary focus on securing government contracts or other significant projects. This role involves close collaboration with diverse teams, including business development, sales, marketing, and subject matter experts, to craft winning strategies and proposals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Opportunity Identification: Identify and assess potential business opportunities aligning with organizational goals. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to evaluate feasibility and profitability. Monitor government procurement websites and industry sources for upcoming opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning and Collaboration: Drive strategic planning efforts to develop and implement capture plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define win prospects, value propositions, and differentiators.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders. Attend industry events, conferences, and networking activities to enhance organizational presence.
  • Capture Strategy Development: Create comprehensive capture strategies for winning contracts, outlining key milestones and resource requirements. Oversee the use of visual tools for effective presentations and proposal development.
  • Competitive Analysis: Continuously analyze competitors' strengths and weaknesses using different tools that are market trending. Adjust capture strategies based on gathered intelligence.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for pursuing specific opportunities.
  • Leadership Engagement: Present capture plans and strategies to senior leadership for approval. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations as needed.
  • Pipeline Management and Reporting: Update the business development pipeline with new opportunities. Regularly update business development folders with federal agency forecasts. Develop executive summaries of identified opportunities and deliver them to leadership.
  • Proposal Development: Ensure compliance with requirements in every proposal submission. Work closely with proposal teams to align content with the capture strategy and customer requirements.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, engineering, etc.); advanced degrees or certifications may be preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in business development, capture management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of government contracting processes and regulations (if applicable).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in proposal development and project management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Experience:
  • Three (3) or more years of administrative & leadership experience in a professional services firm OR
  • One (1) year of experience in a supervisory role.
