Position Summary

Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90's and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Alpo, Beneful, Nestle Purina ONE, Cat Chow, Kitten Chow, Friskies and Kit N Kaboodle brands.

As a production operator, you'll develop your skill set while training in multiple production roles across the factory. Make an impact on people and pets nationwide as you work collaboratively to support smooth operations across our processes.   • Train on various production roles including Operator Process, Operator Relief, and Operator Line to be placed into various areas of the factory as needed.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process, or product problems.
  • Maintain knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, 5S practices, and continuous improvement operations.
  • Conduct general sanitation activities including being trained in emptying hoppers and baler.
  • Run reports and manage data using computer-based technology.

This position requires the ability to work 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts, as well as extensive overtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a production or machine operator

Benefits

  • Starting pay of $25.78/hour for the introductory period, with an increase to $29.56/hour after 6 months
  • After one year of service, you will receive the bid rate for the job you are performing, which can start at $38.03/hour and has the potential to be higher

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $25.78 per hour for Production Operator. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
