The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) in Madison, WI is currently recruiting for a Nursing Office Scheduler.

Position Summary
As the Nursing Office Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing and evaluating the Indeavor scheduling system in accordance with DHS, MMHI and regulatory requirements for all MMHI employees. You will be responsible for performing varied and complex administrative and support tasks critical to the operation of the Nursing Department (500+ employees). Duties include:
  • Institute-wide scheduling and position control within Indeavor,
  • Orientation of new nursing department employees,
  • Providing advanced level Indeavor training to unit schedulers and supervisors,
This position will also assist the Nursing Office Supervisors in the coordination and determination of priorities for using department office paraprofessional staff which includes:
  • Scheduling of nursing office drivers,
  • Coordinating medical appointments for patients,
  • Providing communication between unit management, program nursing supervisors and nursing office supervisors.

Salary Information
The starting pay for this position is $25.04 per hour (approximately $52,000 per year), plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an Operations Program Associate and in pay schedule and range 02/11.
Job Details

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, etc.) to perform duties such as creating spreadsheets to track data, entering data into a databases, preparing written correspondence, responding to emails, etc.
  • Experience working with a tracking or scheduling system (e.g., entering data, performing calculations, monitoring, tracking data, etc.).
  • Experience providing program or administrative support (e.g., triaging phone calls, responding to inquiries, maintaining files, etc.).
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
  • Experience preparing staff work schedules (e.g., creating and updating staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage, timekeeping, tracking leave, etc.)
  • Experience working in a hospital, medical clinic, or similar 24/7 healthcare facility.
