Position Details

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biochemistry at the Assistant Professor level starting in August 2027. The successful candidate will join the department's 31 faculty and staff members.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in biochemistry or related field; postdoctoral research and prior teaching experience are preferred. The ideal candidate will strengthen our ASBMB-accredited biochemistry program and will be expected to demonstrate a dedication to the education of undergraduate students by teaching lower- and upper-level courses within our chemistry and biochemistry curriculum, engaging in research activities involving undergraduate students, and providing service to the department, college, university, and professional community. The teaching load for this position is 24 total contact hours (including teaching labs) over the academic year.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Biochemistry or closely related discipline.
