Purpose

The Starbucks Manager is responsible for the overall operation, profitability, customer experience, and team leadership of the in-store Starbucks kiosk. This position ensures the department delivers exceptional customer service, maintains Starbucks brand standards, drives sales growth, and complies with all company, food safety, and Starbucks operational requirements. The Starbucks Manager leads and develops baristas while creating a welcoming cafe environment that enhances the customer shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Starbucks team members, including Assistant Starbucks Managers and Baristas.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new cafe employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Foster a culture of customer service excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Create schedules that support staffing needs while managing labor costs.
Customer Service
  • Deliver and promote exceptional customer service in accordance with Starbucks and company standards.
  • Ensure customers receive friendly, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Resolve customer concerns and service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Build customer loyalty by creating a positive and welcoming cafe experience.
  • Encourage team engagement and connection with customers.
Department Operations
  • Oversee daily Starbucks operations, including beverage production, food service, cleanliness, and merchandising.
  • Ensure compliance with all Starbucks brand standards and operating procedures.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing to support peak business periods.
  • Maintain cafe appearance, organization, and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.
Sales & Merchandising
  • Execute promotional programs, seasonal launches, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Maintain attractive product displays and merchandise presentations.
  • Monitor sales trends and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
  • Support execution of marketing and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure promotional products and featured beverages are available and properly displayed.
Inventory Management & Cost Control
  • Manage ordering, receiving, inventory control, and product replenishment.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels while minimizing spoilage and waste.
  • Monitor food, beverage, supply, and operating costs.
  • Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and inventory reporting.
Financial Performance
  • Manage labor, expenses, and department profitability.
  • Review sales, productivity, and operational reports regularly.
  • Develop and execute action plans to achieve sales and financial goals.
  • Support store-wide operational and financial objectives.
Food Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health department, and Starbucks requirements.
  • Maintain proper food handling, temperature monitoring, and cleaning procedures.
  • Ensure employees follow all safety policies and operational procedures.
  • Promote a safe environment for customers and employees.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure beverages and food items are prepared according to Starbucks recipes and standards.
  • Monitor consistency, quality, freshness, and presentation of all products.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure brand compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction.
