Reports to: General Manager/Department Manager
Job Summary:
Our mission is to provide an innovative and entertaining dining experience which will compel our guests to become raving fans and create brand loyalty. Join us as a guest, leave as a friend. The Host/Hostess welcomes and entertains guests in a warm, friendly manner to provide a positive first impression of service. They are responsible to manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests, answering the phones, call ahead seating, reservations, guest inquiries, and Curbside To-Go orders.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Believes in and follows all team standards and expectations.
  • Adherance to attendance policy and procedural compliance.
  • Ready for each shift in full uniform.
  • Perform host stand set-up, opening duties, running side work and closing duties.
  • Be the positive and uplifting first and last impression of our guests.
  • Answer the phone promptly with a smile.
  • Communicate and seat guests in an organized, professional and friendly fashion.
  • Accept reservations based on Company standards.
  • Manage quotes and waiting periods based on Company standards using a guest management system.
  • Inspect restrooms and parking lot for cleanliness.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the host area and guest waiting areas.
  • Attend all employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain restaurant safety and sanitation.
  • Assist in table maintenance and bussing for prompt seating.
  • Is aware of and abides by all liquor service laws.
  • Alert Manager immediately if intoxicated Guest enters the restaurant.
  • Always friendly and courteous on the telephone and in person.
  • Keep a clean and professional appearance at all times.
  • Handle guest concerns with courtesy.
  • Provide information to guests when requested.
  • Processes guest retail sales.
  • Take to-go orders for guests and process payment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by a Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic restaurant hospitality and fully engaged, service-minded attitude.
  • Food Safety certification, as state law requires.
  • Good hearing for safety and accurate communication (with or without accommodation).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Basic computer usage skills.
  • Must possess valid food safety certification or any other food/alcohol certification if required by state law.
  • Compliance with our dress and appearance policy including black slip resistant shoes.
  • Ability to pass general information and departmental tests (test score of 90% or higher).

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
