At Standard Beer + Food, Raleigh’s favorite neighborhood eatery, we are committed to serving the Raleigh community by offering quality food, drinks and hospitality. We are seeking an individual who is positive, self-motivated, and has a passion for quality food, beverage, and service. This candidate must be able to foster teamwork and the ability to skillfully navigate a variety of personalities. We are looking to hire someone who holds themselves to a high standard of excellence and finds fulfillment and motivation in the culinary field and guest experience. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Provide exceptional guest service, address guest needs, and resolve any issues or complaints promptly. 
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens. 
  • Stay informed about daily specials and promotional items. 
  • Possess basic knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits (if applicable to the restaurant type). 
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding orders, timing, and special requests. 
  • Assist bussers and other team members with their duties as needed to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Confidently make recommendations and upsell appropriate items. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas. 
  • Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations. 
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized service to encourage repeat business. 

Qualifications: 
  • Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred but not required. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work in a high volume environment and handle multiple tables simultaneously. 
  • Outgoing, friendly, and professional demeanor. 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
