Position Title: Middle School Theater Arts Assistant
Position Summary:
The Middle School Theater Arts Assistant supports the Theater Arts Teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate instruction and productions. This role helps students develop creativity, confidence, collaboration, and performance skills while maintaining a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Theater Arts Teacher during classes, rehearsals, and performances
  • Support students with acting exercises, blocking, line memorization, and stage movement
  • Help manage classroom behavior and ensure student safety
  • Assist with set construction, props, costumes, lighting, and sound as appropriate
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, and after-school activities
  • Help with preparation, setup, and cleanup of rehearsal and performance spaces
  • Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to students
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance, scripts, and materials organization

Qualifications:
  • Experience working with middle school aged students preferred
  • Interest or background in theater, drama, or performing arts preferred
  • Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light lifting related to stage materials
