Job description

Branch Manager
Aurora, IL
Pay: $70,000–$80,000 per year, plus Quarterly Bonus opportunities
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Reports To: Regional Manager
This role requires staffing industry experience and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
Lead a Branch. Build a Team. Own Your Market.
Aurora sits at the heart of one of the busiest industrial corridors in the Midwest. From the I-88 tech and logistics corridor to the warehouses and manufacturers spread across the Fox Valley, companies here need people, and they need them fast. That's where we come in, and that's where you come in.
Midway Staffing is one of the fastest-growing light industrial staffing firms in the country, named to the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America every year from 2019 to 2025. We connect hardworking people with manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, production, and skilled trades jobs at the most reputable businesses in the area. We don't just fill positions. We solve problems, drive growth, and build partnerships that last.
Now we're looking for a Branch Manager who wants to run this market like it's their own business. Because in a lot of ways, it will be. Fill rates, retention, client satisfaction, revenue, branch profitability, they all roll up to you, and that's exactly how you like it.
What You'll Actually Do
This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk management job. You'll be the heartbeat of the Aurora branch: leading your team, talking to clients, solving problems in real time, and making sure the right people land in the right jobs every single day.
  • Run the day-to-day operations of the branch, including payroll, reporting, and recruitment activity
  • Set clear KPIs for your team, coach them to hit those numbers, and celebrate when they do
  • Be the first call for clients on job orders, temporary employee concerns, and business questions. When they have a problem, you fix it
  • Support your branch sales rep and help develop new accounts, building relationships at every level of client organizations
  • Grow the book: spot expansion opportunities inside existing accounts and coach your team to see them too
  • Stay ahead of problems. Anticipate client workforce needs and workforce issues before they turn into escalations
  • Find new and creative ways to source talent, both active and passive candidates
  • Set goals and incentives for your staff and communicate them clearly and often
  • Dig into your branch numbers weekly and monthly and know exactly where you stand against your goals
  • Partner with Risk Management, HR, and Compliance to keep safety front and center at our branches and client sites
  • Interview and help select new members of your branch team
  • Train and coach your people on the skills that make them successful
Who Thrives Here
You've lived the staffing business. You know what a good fill rate looks like, you've handled a Monday morning no-show call, and you can switch between English and Spanish without missing a beat. You move with urgency when an order is open, and you don't dodge the hard conversations, whether that's coaching an underperforming recruiter or telling a client something they don't want to hear. You hold your team accountable and yourself first. When something goes wrong on your watch, you own it, fix it, and make sure it doesn't happen twice. And through all of it, you bring the kind of energy that makes people want to come to work.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in the staffing industry, required. This role is built for someone who already knows the business: job orders, fill rates, temp workforce management, and client relationships
  • Proven knowledge of HR management and strategy, including recruitment, talent development, employee relations, and workforce planning
  • A track record of hitting branch KPIs: fill rate, retention, attendance, revenue, and client satisfaction
  • Experience coaching recruiters and account managers to performance goals, including turning around underperformers
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, required. You'll be working with Spanish-speaking candidates and employees every day, so you need to be comfortable holding real conversations in both languages
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of modern recruiting techniques, including online and social media recruiting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Sharp organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stay steady and effective in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, or similar tools
What Winning Looks Like
A year from now, you'll know you've crushed it when clients treat your branch as their go-to staffing partner, open shifts get filled fast and filled right, retention and attendance keep climbing, your team is energized and hitting their numbers, and Aurora is one of the top-performing branches in the company. That's the scoreboard.
Our Core Values
Reliable: We follow through, every time. Trust is the foundation of everything we do.
Relentless: We push past challenges to deliver results and uncover opportunities.
Team Player: We succeed together, supporting one another to achieve what seems impossible.
Why Midway?
  • Real career advancement: We're growing fast, and we promote from within. Your next role could be a bigger one
  • Paid, hands-on training: We invest in setting you up for long-term success from day one
  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD amp;D, and 401(k) options for all eligible employees
  • Quarterly bonus opportunities: When your branch wins, you win
