Job description

About the Role

A well-funded, Series A/B–and-beyond AI fintech platform — now at Series D — is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Full-Stack to help shape a cutting-edge AI product built on large language models (LLMs). Sitting within a 51–200 person Engineering team in New York City (on-site), you'll own major features across the stack, partner closely with Product and Customer Success, and push the boundaries of what AI-powered tooling can do for the financial services industry.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for an engineer who thrives in fast-moving environments and cares deeply about craft, scalability, and user experience.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What You'll Do
  • Shape product direction and own technical design for AI-powered features across the full stack.

  • Deliver major product features end-to-end, from design through production launch.

  • Build and maintain feedback loops with end users and the Customer Success team to continuously improve the product.

  • Architect scalable systems and implement robust, performant software components.

  • Ensure platform reliability, observability, and operational excellence for production services.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineers and domain experts to solve complex, ambiguous problems.

  • Iterate on UI/UX and product design to deliver experiences that delight users.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in full-stack software engineering, delivering production-grade web applications.

  • Extensive experience with React and TypeScript for front-end development.

  • Proven experience deploying production applications with Python, Next.js, NestJS, Docker, AWS, and Tailwind CSS.

  • Hands-on experience adopting the latest framework features in production (e.g., React Server Components, streaming).

  • Experience collaborating with product, design, and domain experts to architect scalable systems in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong CS fundamentals, self-motivated owner mindset, and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI/LLM tooling and a demonstrated passion for early-stage or hyper-growth companies.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Background as an early engineer at a hyper-growth startup.

  • Experience at a leading AI research institution or a world-class product organization.

  • UI/UX and product design sensibility.

  • Domain familiarity with financial services or fintech workflows.

Location

This role is on-site in New York City, NY. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available. Visa sponsorship is not offered.
