Staff Rfic Design Engineer Jobs in Washington (NOW HIRING)

We are seeking aSenior Roadway Design Engineerto join our team inAlexandria, VAarea to help work on various highway projects.

Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Duties usually include the following:

• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in apart of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Performs preliminary engineering design and/or reviews the design and drafting work ofjunior engineers, designers or drafters.
• Prepares cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of final plans and reports and submits them forapproval.
• Conducts or oversees personnel involved in engineering investigations and planningwork.
• Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside owndiscipline, and with support services staff.
• Plans, schedules and conducts or coordinates construction services on projects ofmoderate scope.
• May occasionally assist in the management of projects.
• May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. The typical incumbent has 6 to 10 years' experience since Bachelor's or 4 to 8 years' since Master's degree.
• PE in VA, MD, and/or Washington DC required.
• DOT and/or local municipality design experience in Virginia, Maryland, and/or Washington DC strongly preferred.

Expected compensation range is between $100,000 - $130,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
