International Friendships, Inc. is a Christian non profit. The mission of IFI is to extend life-changing love and friendship to international college students. We do this by offering services, such as airport pickups, holiday hosting, temporary housing, conversation partnerships, and social events and trips.

Expected work schedule for the Rochester Ministry Leader:

  • Full- or part-time, flexible schedule
  • Occasional evenings and/or weekends for specific ministry needs
  • Annual Conferences such as the IFI Staff Retreat

Pay structure for a Rochester Ministry Leader:

  • Requires the development of a ministry partner team which supplies the necessary prayer and financial support to cover salary, benefits, and ministry expenses
  • Training is provided to develop a team of ministry partners
  • Pay range is between $28,093 and $87,418 after the period of support development, based on experience and other factors

About the Area and Responsibilities of a Rochester Ministry Leader

Rochester Institute of Technology RIT is one of many colleges in the Rochester area that has hosted international students from across the globe. Many international students bring a range of experiences, ideas, talents and skills with them when they come here to study. They are eager to find out how life is lived in an American context as they study in Rochester. Rochester is a great place to show hospitality to international students and help them learn about living in America. This position is part of the Rochester ministry team and requires the candidate to live near the campus on which they will be serving.

The Rochester Ministry Leader will establish a ministry location by building relationships with university staff, church partners, and volunteers. The Rochester Ministry Leader will engage in personal ministry as well as mobilize others to host Bible studies, plan cultural events, and share the Gospel. It is vital that the Rochester Ministry Leader establish IFI as a recognized student org, maintain good relationships with the campus, and maintain financial and prayer support for the budgeted needs of the role.

Qualifications Needed from the Rochester Ministry Leader, including Spiritual Characteristics

  • Adherence to IFI's statement of faith, core values, and policies
  • Faithful in evangelism and hospitality to international students as well as discipling believers to do the same
  • Well organized, takes initiative, able to work independently or collaboratively
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Proficient with technology necessary to the ministry, including Microsoft Office and Google applications

Education/Experience for a Rochester Ministry Leader

  • Demonstrated experience mobilizing, training, and ministering to people required
  • Bachelor degree
  • Experience in cross-cultural ministry, preferred
