Job description

Purpose:
Responsible for stacking boxes of finished product on pallets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reads stacking configuration from packing specifications to determine arrangement of cases on pallets.
  • Set up code date information for product.
  • Observes packages moving along conveyor to identify and detect defective packaging.
  • Stacks specified configuration of boxes on pallets and moves pallet to the pallet wrapper.
  • Wraps and creates a tag for the pallet for storage.
  • Supplies line with packing materials and stops equipment to clear jams.
  • Keeps record of production and equipment performance.
  • Ensures that all work all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
  • Follows company policies and procedures as well as the GMP’s (good manufacturing practices).
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
  • Accomplishes all tasks assigned.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 60 lbs. for 8 to 12 hours.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time that vary from 8 to 12 hours.
Must be able to work in an area of 25 to 45 degrees.
Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.
Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical.
Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick.
Knowledge:
  • Know metal detector policy and proper handling of product.
  • To keep the packing equipment and work area in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Know and understand how to keep area clean.
  • To have an up to date inventory of packing supplies.
  • Have basic understanding of GMP’s

Education and Work Experience:
High school education or equivalent preferred. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team effort.
