Description
Warehouse Associates must have the ability to work and communicate in a team environment, sharing all team activities. Activities include putting inventory away in specific locations, pulling inventory according to picking instructions, boxing, packaging orders and shipping orders, preparing truck manifests, and the transportation of material from manufacturing to distribution. Supporting these activities you will be required to operate a variety of equipment including forklift, bobtail, and order picking equipment to heights of 20 feet, spooling, and boxing equipment. Team members will also be expected to work in a variety of areas and take initiative to flow to the area of need. Job Responsibilities
  • Data Entry Required - Typically 2.5 hours mixed throughout day.
  • Put away - Returning product to shelf (rack). Requires estimated combination of 80% forklift use and 20% hand stacking boxes weighing 10 to 110 pounds. Heavy boxes are not manually lifted, rather repositioned without lifting onto a pallet or shelf. Use of RF equipment.
  • Picking - Removing lightweight (
  • Packing - includes stacking e-reels (10 to 110 lb.) with pneumatic hoist and using lift tables at transition points. Also includes manually placing small items into boxes and over-packing into larger cartons.
  • Shipping - Primarily labeling and processing shipment in ERP system. Light computer is required work to process a shipment using a combination of mouse clicks (59%), scans (5%), and keystrokes (36%). On average 20 to 50 shipments are processed per day, per shipping operator. An average shipment takes 1 minute to process.
  • Spooling - Transferring e-reels (10-110 lb.) from pallets to pay-off equipment using pneumatic hoist. Manually traversing up to 20 cuts (~3 minutes per cut) a day. This requires standing and light cable guidance onto smaller reel. Transfer finished e-reels into boxes with pneumatic hoist.
  • Staging - Finished shipment staged by forklift, hand-stack, and/or use of pneumatic hoist onto pallets.

  • Work in SAP or equivalent work in a complex ERP system desirable
  • Clear verbal and written communication required
  • Basic arithmetic skills and recording of department metrics
  • Must be a self-started and possess fair computer skills (Word, Excel and SAP a plus)
  • Experience driving material handling equipment: order picker, joey, standup and sit-down forklift.
  • Frequent use of material handling equipment throughout the day.
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift of 8 hours, work overtime and weekends to meet business demands
